Well last week the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 video game was released, I went to the Bay City mall as soon as class got out to wait in line. At 12:15am I had gotten my game and was going out to my car, I rushed home to pop in in the xbox and play. Well the game has great graphic, as it should have, but the game play was just like Modern Warfare 2. But the biggest let down was the campaign length, most people I've talked to including myself have finished it between 4 and 5 hours. Now I know the multi player mode is what a lot of people buy the game for but i like to play the campaign as well and when I can beat the game in less then a quarter of a day then that's just not right. Most everyone that I've talked to were disappointed with the game, but were not with the multi player mode. I've only gotten to play the multi player mode once so far and it was great, I just can't wait to play online.
Although for the next game COD game, the game designers really need to think that if there ever was a foreign occupation in the continental U.S., that civilians and not just the military would be in the fight. I have talked with some of my friends and they agree that there should be a civilian mini campaign in the game. If done correctly it would make the game play more realistic, and entertaining.

COD MW3 at MIDNIGHT TONIGHT!!
The long awaited Call of Duty modern Warfare 3 (COD MW3) is being released tonight at midnight, one of the workers at GameStop in the bay city mall said that she thinks there will be around 500 or more people in line waiting for the game. I will be one of those people, the last time that I did this was back when Modern Warfare 2 was released. but of course back then I had to be up at 5am the following morning so it was a tiresome day that followed the release. but this time I don't have to be at Delta till 10am so I'll get a bit of sleep before class.
This is a sweet Live Action video than deals with COD MW2/
The demand for COD MW3 has been very high, but it's been even higher in France where recently a van carrying a shipment of the games was robbed after being hit with a car and the driver and passenger of the van getting sprayed with tear gas and using knives. It was not reported it the driver and passenger were injured during the robbery, The thief's did get away with a large number of the game with an estimated value of around $570,663 at about $60 each, so that's around 9511 games. It was reported that another robbery took place on another van, with a car used to block the road before three men commandeered another delivery van and stole a further cache of MW3 worth similar value to the first.
Most recently a copy of the game sold for about $1,700 on eBay, this just shows how dedicated to the game some players are.

COD MW3 Ear Buds......are they really worth it.
So Call of Duty Modern Warfare3 (COD, MW3) is almost here, and the other day as I went into Game Stop, I noticed they had a sweet looking set of ear buds that were in a COD MW3 box. As I stood there admiring these items of pure sweetness, i asked the guy at the counter how much they were, because I would have loved to own a pair of these. Then came the reply that shocked me, they cost $89.95. I just looked at him and said that no one was going to buy them, he agreed with me and said they only had about six sets and he had a feeling that they will end up being sent back to the manufacture.
The cool thing about these ear buds was the fact that they are in the shape of a 9mm round casing. Now it you have no idea what a 9mm case is, it's the brass part of the bullet that either stays inside the revolver or is ejected our to the side of the weapon it's being fired from. Now these buds aren't like the ones you would get at any other store though, they are a special edition earphones that are made from black aircraft-grade billet aluminum and come with a changeable set of silicone green tips to make sure you can find a comfortable fit for your ears. That from what I've read so far is the only difference, an aircraft-grade aluminum. Even so i don't think they should be a penny over $30 at most.

X-box 360 disk read error.........
Ok so if you have an older x-box360 you might know about the disk read error, if you do not have one you may have heard about this error. Well my system has had the issues a few times, now one way to solve this by yourself would be to turn off the system and unplug the power cable, take apart your system, and remove the cover that is over the disk drive.
when you do this you will see that the laser isn't all the way in the front or back of its' track, it'll be in the middle of the track and this is what will give you the disk error. All you will have to do is seat the laser towards the back of its track. After you do this it is time to reassemble the system plug it in and power it on, it should work like a champ now. The reason you might get a disk error is because you may have shut down your system improperly, i.e. shut it down while watching a movie or playing a game. Now if you really want to help your system out, when you have it apart take a soft clean brush and perform a good dusting. Having a low powered vacuum will help here as well.

Call of Duty and HALO
So there is just under a month until the next Call of Duty game is released.
The Call of Duty series have been one of the most widely bought first person shooters for most of my friends, although those that love HALO don't really care for it they will still play it. The only down side of flipping from HALO to C.O.D.(call of duty) is the controls. They very by allot, but it is fun if you have someone who hasn't played a first person shooter before, and you have them play HALO for about twenty minuets then switch to C.O.D. The thing I like best about C.O.D. is that you don’t have power ups or shields like you do in HALO, it's more like life. With the exceptions of some factors, for example in real life a 9mm pistol has a max effective rang of about 50 meters, but in the game you can get a kill from across the map which can be a few hundred meters. Also in the game some of the weapons are misrepresented, in the game they have the 240B. A belt fed fully automatic machine gun, in the game when you fire the weapon the carrying handle bounces like a kid with fire ants in his pants. If that were to really happen you would immediately stop firing and replace the barrel because the handle should never do that.
All in all though they did a very good job at getting military accuracy. Most of the weapons and equipment are close to the real thing and some of the lingo in the game matches up with the real thing.

come one, come all, get your suppressors
Have you ever wanted to get a suppressor for your assault rifle or hand gun, but couldn't due to Michigan laws? Well now you’re in luck, earlier this year Michigan passed a law that allows you to buy a suppressor. many people don't see the use of a suppressor and that if you have one you are more prone to use it for illegal activity. Now some people may take that rout, most wont. The point behind getting a suppressor is to "silence" the firearm, and in doing so it helps reduce the effects of the defining noise that would normal come out of the barrel and cause slight disorientation to someone who isn't accustom to firing a gun.
Many people don’t know how a suppressor works, so for those of you who do not here is a little description of how it works and who created it.A suppressor works in much the same way as the muffler on a gas combustion engine. In fact, both were developed around the same time by Hiram Maxim. The primary function is to cool and slow the escape of hot, high pressure, combustion gasses into the surrounding atmosphere. As a practical example of how this works, imagine two inflated balloons. If you were to pop one of the balloons with a pin, the air inside would rapidly expand into the surrounding, lower pressure air over a very short time period. The result would be a loud pop. Take the second balloon and simply release the neck. It will putter around through the air as the higher pressure air inside slowly escapes through the neck into the lower pressure surrounding air making much less noise.
Suppressors are used by the military and law enforcement for their snipers. As well other government agencies may use them from time to time depending on the situation they are in. But they are not very common or practical for every day shooting, for one when you attach a suppressor to your weapon you are reducing the distance the bullet will travel for one and you are adding on extra weight to the weapon as well. That’s why you mainly see snipers with them on their riffles and not the ground pounders that are busting into the house or whatever it is that are doing. Also a sniper will not have the suppressor on the riffle all the time, the “silencer will remain off the barrel until they are in position that way there won’t be anything extra hanging off the barrel to get caught on anything.
For most people the closest they will come to using a suppressor is in video games like Call of Duty and many other first person shooter games. Now if you decide to make or buy a suppressor just remember to get a license to carry and poses it or you will be looking at around a 10 year sentence and the surrendering of all your firearms and forfeiture of all future weapons you acquire. As well you could be slapped with a $250,000 fine due to the NFA (National firearms Act.)

Command and Respect....
Ok, I know this isn't in-line with my topic idea, but I just have to rant on the subject of the military and their promotions.
So the other day at Delta College I seen this lady sitting down at one of the tables. She was in the ACU military uniform that is used by the U.S. Army. Upon closer inspection I noticed she was adorn with the rank of an E-6, also known as a Staff Sergeant. There isn't anything wrong with that I thought, that is until I noticed she had no combat patch. This is the patch worn on the right sleeve, and is only awarded to soldiers that have been over in a combat situation.
This is something that pisses me off, because if you demand command and respect from the troops you are supposed to lead, and you do not have a combat patch and they do they wont think and much of you. That was the common consensus in my old unit. When you see a private with a combat patch and then you see their squad leader who is a Sergeant with out one it kind of makes you mad. Or at least with me it does, I posted this on my facebook page the other day and I got some nice response from some friends. For example at Fort Jackson their CSM(Command Sergeant Major) does not have a combat patch, how can you demand the respect from your soldiers when you have no idea what most of them have been through.
Another example of of how the military has a messed up ranking advancement process is the late husband of Faye McDonald, the wonderful elderly lady that adopted my old unit. Her late husband had to do four combat tours before he was promoted to 1SG(First Sergeant), she said it just makes her mad to see people promoted when that have no experience in a leadership position. Well that's my rant for the day.
